Robert W. "Trans" Tranchida, 42, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, February 23, 2004 in his home.

He retired in August, 2003 from the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility in Annandale, NJ as a senior corrections officer.

Born July 25, 1961, he was a son of Robert F. and Susan Pavin Tranchida of Jasper, N.Y.

He was a member of the Young Men Italian American Club, Phillipsburg and Concordia Maennerchor, Easton. He was a former member of New Jersey State Policeman's Benevolent Association, Local 105.

In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by a son, Christopher H. of Wilson Borough, a sister, Jeanette M. of Jasper; a brother Frank C. of Nazareth; a companion, Tina M. Peiffer and her daughter Sara E., both at home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The Rev. John D. Kleist, Pastor of the First Lutheran Church of Stewartsville will officiate. The family will receive visitors from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home.
