Robert J. Tremaine, 81, of Greenwich Township, died Friday, March 27, 2009 in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Robert was a glazier and glass cutter for Edward P. Paul and Company in Plainfield, NJ, retiring in 1994.

Born September 17, 1927 in Bangor, Pa, he was the son of the late Donald and Lillian Housden Tremaine.

He was a Seaman Second Class in the Navy during World War Two. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Bangor.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, the former Elaine M. Kroener Koss; five sons, Kenneth and Donald of Alexandria Township, NJ, Alan and Edward Koss of Turnin, NY and Scott Koss of Bethlehem, Pa; a daughter Robin Mae of Oxford, NJ; seven grandchildren; two cousins, Lorraine Romanish and William Bray and nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, the former Vilma Gonzales and a sister, Gloria Wilhem.

Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main Street, Phillipsburg. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be submitted by visiting www.noto-wynkoop.com.
