Peter Gwaldis was my uncle. My dad, James, was his brother. I never knew my Uncle Pete well, but I remember daddy talking about him a lot. There's only one brother of the four left now, my Uncle Charlie. My dad died in 1997, his brother John died later that year and now Uncle Pete is gone. And the Gwaldis family is so scattered and we hardly ever keep in contact. So sad. I wish I had known Uncle Pete better. I never knew he graduated from Juillard. I know the family was musically talented, but I had no idea!

Thank you, Amy, for inspiring me to write this. My Dad was a very dedicated father, very brave in his determination to keep the family together after my Mom died. All of us stayed together for quite a period of time, but ended up drifting apart. Marie, myself and Allen stay in close contact. I wish my Dad had taken more time for himself and his love and talent for music. He could have gone far musically and he chose to raise five children. We will always love him very much and he is still in our hearts.
