It is hard to believe you are gone. I would give anything to hear
half a breath. Memories will keep you in my heart forever. I love
you so much. I know that you knew that. Andrew misses his Uncle
Johnny. I will make sure that the kids always remember you.

John you will always stay a blonde, bold young boy in my mind.
He moved in down the street from my family when I was around 8. Gosh, can that be right? I'm sure it is it was forever ago, yet somehow feels like yesterday. He made everyone laugh. He was full of life, and I truly hope looking back, he'll say it was a full one. Yes, it was one that was taken from us all far too early, but it is late to think about that. Though time wasn't on his side, I feel like the time was well spent. I know my time with John was well spent and fondly relived in my minds eye from listening to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" in the back of my family's 1984 Dodge Colt, to playing hide and go seek in the abandoned houses of Middle Valley, New Jersey, and to my dad always comparing my sister Kari, John and me to Jackie, Monroe and Sara from the TV show "Too Close for Comfort".
I also remember when John just moved in and was the new kid on the school bus route, the childhood version of the golf course where all deals, reputations and relationships are established and broken. He wanted to toss out a sophomoric jab by telling me that I would marry my brother Randy. At that time John had no idea that Randy and I were related, being the new kid so we felt like the joke was on him. Suffice it to say that Randy and I did not become John's intended match made in heaven. But I hope that John is enjoying this trip down memory lane from up there right now.

Johnny, we are so sorry to loose you, we loved you and prayed for you every day. I know you are no longer suffering and that gives me some peace. I choose to remember you when you were 17 months old, we were baby sitting for you, your Uncle Joe had just gotten off work in Somerville as a police officer and he was still in his uniform. We only had one car so I drove him to work in the morn and picked him up in the afternoon. Those were the days when we could sit our babies on the seat between us, you were between us, and you got this glint in your eyes and you smiled so big and you turned your bottle upside down and squirted your Uncle Joe, I laughed, he didn't. You were so fat and beautiful. I will always remember you that way. I love you, Uncle Joe loves you too, Little Joe and Bob love you too. You are missed.

I haven't seen him since he was a little boy. I remember when I lived across the street from him in Whippany. John and his brother Jimmy would stand at the window and call their grandma. He was such a sweet boy with his blonde hair and oh how chubby. You see I am and was his Aunt, due to problems with the family, I really didn't get a chance to see him much. My sister told me she say him, he came knocking at her door, how I would have loved to see him again. If I knew he lived in Loptcong I would have tried to see him. I just moved to Va from Phillipsburg. My prayers go out to his Mom and my nephew Jimmy. If they would like to contact me please give them my e-mail address. I would love to hear from them. Johnny, I am sorry I wasn't able to see you, may you rest an peace. I will never ever forget you.

Johnny,
Wow, this is really hard. I just thank God that I saw you for those very special moments that we spent together back in 1994'ish. You showed up at my door, I will never forget that. After all those years that had gone by. You are and were truly loved and I feel blessed to have been able to spend those special moments and memories with you. I'm just sorry that we had lost touch again.
Until we meet again my nephew, I love you.
