Dear Pappy,

I will miss you. I want those who read this to know that this is not a time of regrets for me; it is a time to remember you. I know that we never had a true grandfather to grandson relationship. I do not ask why that was so; I just accept it. I know that part of that lack of relationship is because I did not try as an adult to invite you into my life; and so I learn a hard lesson from that. That I AM TO MAKE THE MOST OF THE TIME WITH THE FAMILY I HAVE NOW. Thank you for that wisdom, my dearest Pappy. I know that I will not forget the times we did spend together. I will not forget the visits you made to me as a child at Aunt Coreen's House on Berks street. I will not forget going Great Grand Mother's house when I was a kid on Tuttle street on Saturdays with mother and playing in the yard. I will not forget your sweet, gentle spirit. I will not forget your smile and sense of humor. I will not forget your love for dogs; which I also share. I will not forget your stories about your job and how hard you worked. Your work ethic influenced my life in positive way. I will not forget the time we went to go get coal for mother's home when Wayne passed away, and how we had the only one on one talk I remember having with you as a grown man. I will savor that memory until I leave this earth. As I think of this time of my life, me losing my Pappy, I will take the time to grieve your loss. I will take the time to tell my children, Daniel age 12, Kathryn age 7 and Morgan age 4, that their Great Grandfather was a sweet man with a good heart. I will take the time to say a prayer for mother; because I know she is hurting. There will always be a special place in my heart for you; you did make a difference in my life. I love you Pappy and I will miss you.
