My personal tribute to my eternal friend, in eternal love, Mike Moscotta, by Robert "Rudy" Russo... I first met Mike early in my freshman year at Phillipsburg High School way back in September, 1965. What struck me immediately, was how friendly and non-judgmental he was towards me (and seemingly everybody else) which was such a godsend, since at the time, I wasn't too popular and had very few friends. As time passed and our friendship grew, I came to realize that he was such a big and kind-hearted soul and not once did I ever hear him say anything bad about anyone or anything . What also was special about him was that, just about everyone in the school knew him, and how well-liked he was. I remember that he once performed a solo gymnastic routine in the main gym, in front of what seemed like the entire school. Although there were some ignorant students (and even teachers) who initially laughed and thought it would be a big joke, Mike performed beautifully and walked off the floor with a big smile, winning everyone's respect and admiration shown by a huge, standing ovation. The smile would have been there anyway, even if he had failed! ... for that was Mike. After graduation in 1969, it was off to Trenton State College (that I attended too) and Mike decided to join the most awesome and fearful fraternity there... Theta Nu Sigma. I remember during pledge season how some brothers would beat on him (which he probably never deserved and how he would take it!) but Mike, would never give up ... for that was Mike too. And "Lobo", now his new fraternity name, ended up becoming the most popular, well liked, and most loved brother in the entire fraternity! and no... I wasn't surprised, for that again was "Mike"... just like when I met him for the first time in high school, when he accepted me as a friend. I could say much more about "Mike" as I sit here crying,... but not crying for long, for I know that Mike hasn't died... for there is no such thing as death. Death has no opposite for the opposite of life is birth. And yes... as some of Mike rubbed on to me, I rubbed some of Mike onto others, and maybe they rubbed Mike onto others, and in this mad world of ours, maybe Mike will save us all!

I didn't know Mike for a long time, but was lucky enough to work with him, and saw him almost every day. Mike was a kind, gentle, and hard working individual, and I always looked forward to our daily conversations, whether they be about work, or how much he loved the cat that adopted him from Panel Hi-Tech. I will always remember how he would somehow manage to make me smile, even when things were going a little crazy at work. He will truly be missed.
