Mary C. Ward, 82, of Palmer Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg and Milford, died Sunday, January 20, 2002 in Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem, Pa.

She was a sales clerk for the former H.L. Green Co. 5 & 10, Milady Shop, Howard's Quality Clothing Store and Sadie Henry/Killian Sauers Jewelers, all in Easton.

Born February 3, 1919 in Scranton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward C., Sr. and Veronica P. McNulty Casey.

Mary was a 1936 graduate of St. Philip and St. James High School, Phillipsburg.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

She was a member and former vice-regent of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren 389.

Mary was a former member of the Oak Hill Golf Club in Milford and also enjoyed playing bridge and bowling.

She was a former volunteer at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg where she had previously served as a Nurses' Aid during World War Two.

Mary's husband of fifty-five years, John T. Ward, died August 18, 1997.

She is survived by a son, John J. Ward and his wife Dorothy of Palmer Twp; two sisters. Margaret Salitz of New Brunswick, NJ and Veronica Wynkoop of Phillipsburg; two granddaughters, Tracey Gill of Emmaus, Pa. and Kimberly Ward of Feasterville, Pa. Six brothers, Edward C., Jr., Charles E., John E., Robert J., Sr., Leo P., and William J., Sr., all died earlier.

Funeral services will begin 9:00 a.m. Thursday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The interment will follow the Mass in the parish cemetery in Greenwich Twp., NJ. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions to the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren 389 and can be sent in care of the funeral home.
