Dawn E (Ouellette) Nixon

Dawn E. Nixon, 51, of Easton, PA, died December 31, 2023 in her home with her family by her side.

Born December 28, 1972 in Iselin, NJ, Dawn was a daughter of Carol R. Strochuk Ouellette of Summerfield, Florida and the late Donald R. Ouellette.

Dawn graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1991. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in French and English from Cedar Crest College. She studied French Immersion at College International de Cannes and writing, literature and publishing at Emerson College.

As a journalist, Dawn was a writer and editor for NexZest, Inc., was a freelancer for Lehigh Valley Press, worked for WFMZ-TV, was an editor for Elucidator Magazine, was a healthcare reporter for Lehigh Valley Business and was a writer for Repute PR.

Dawn was a beautiful soul, kind to everyone, fiercely loyal and family was the most important thing to her. She was a pioneer of modern Lehigh Valley journalism with her thought provoking work as writer and editor in chief of the Elucidator magazine.

In addition to her mother, Dawn is survived by her husband of 27 years, Matthew A. Nixon; a son Luc and a daughter Annabelle, both at home; three sisters, Deborah Mayo and her husband Anthony of Orefield, PA, Lynne McGeehan of Alburtis, PA and Karen Godtfring and her husband Todd of Macungie, PA and eleven nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am, Monday, January 8, 2024 in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 430 South Main St, Phillipsburg.
