Nancy Confalone-Shober Obituary

 

Nancy (Annunziata) Ann Confalone-Shober, 90, of Bethlehem, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ and Nazareth, PA, died peacefully February 13, 2024.

Born June 28, 1933 in Bronx, NY, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna R. (Calise) Confalone.

Nancy was a mill worker and former secretary for the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union, Local 234 and also was a self-employed house cleaner for many years. She also owned and operated The Busy Body - Crafts by Nancy, specializing in dolls, curtains, crafts and alterations.

She was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She was baptized in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bronx, NY, was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, NJ and also attended St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bethlehem, PA. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, Court Warren and sang in the choir at St. Philip and St. James Church.

Nancy was a naturalist and found solace in her gardening. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining. She had a passion for the theater and opera and was a lover of fashion and watching old movies. She was also an avid Yankee Fan, Bronx Bombers, and enjoyed family trips to Yankee Stadium

Nancy's husband, the late John "Jack" T. Shober, Sr. died January 8, 2007.

Nancy is survived by two sons, Michael J. Fioranelli of Catasauqua, PA and his former wife Tami and Robert A. Fioranelli and his wife Denise of Whitehall, PA; two daughters, Theresa M. Fioranelli-Muscarnera of Phillipsburg and Angela M. Fioranelli-Hardison of Pohatcong Township, NJ; nine grandchildren, Jesse C. Barrett, John Muscarnera (Megan), Cheyenne M. Hardison-Bartholomew (Brian), Cody Hardison (fiancee Alena Marsh), Rachel Haight (Richard), Camille Fioranelli (fiancee Dwight Ransom), Brandi and Anthony Fioranelli, Joseph Fioranelli and his wife Stevie; six great-grandchildren, Vincenzo, Giovanna and Isabella Muscarnera, Emilia Bartholomew, Idalia and Carmella. Two brothers, Faustio J. and Peter A Confalone; a sister, Angela Marie Confalone and a  son-in-law, Sam Muscarnera and former son-in-law Barry S. Barrett all died earlier.

Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Sunday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, Phillipsburg. (www.noto-wynkoop.com). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 430 South Main St, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
