Irene "Renee" Noto, affectionately known as Grams, passed away on March 22, 2020, after a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Phillipsburg, NJ to the late Aggeo and Mary (Sheola) Pacenti, where she met and later married her husband of sixty years, Carmen "Carm" A. Noto.

As a member of the Greatest Generation, she was a real life “Rosie the Riveter” who worked in an airplane factory during WWII to aid the war effort, while her husband-to-be flew over 34 missions as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force. Renee continued to maintain the same sense of pride and dedication in all of her work throughout her life.

After retirement, Renee and her husband moved to the Dallas area where they played an active, loving role as grandparents to their daughter Cheryl’s four children.  She lived for her family and extended family and loved being a part of all their activities.  Even until the very end, she was actively involved and cherished any time spent with family and friends.

She was admired for her spirit, resilience, and strong will.  Her sense of love and commitment to her family and friends defined her.  Her friends at the Carrollton Senior Center will miss her wisdom and sense of style.  She loved her exercise classes, and most of all, attending the Thursday night dance, where she also volunteered as one of the cashiers.

One of nine children, she is preceded in death by seven of her siblings and her husband, and she is survived by her sister Jeanette Castallano of Dallas, TX, and her brother, Edward Pacenti of Bloomsbury, NJ. She is also survived by her son, Terry Noto and his fiancé Jen Bohannon, daughter, Cheryl Swanson and her husband, Bob.  Her six grandchildren, whom she adored, Ashley Oria and her husband Eric, Ryan Swanson, Taylor Taylor and her husband Clay, Tracy Swanson, and Sarah and Emily Bohannon spent considerable time with her until her passing.  She also loved and lived for her seven great grandchildren: Tripp, Brie, Cooper, Colbie, Crosby, Ethan and Liam.

We are comforted knowing that our beloved Grams is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and suffering no more.
