Charlie graduated from Phillipsburg High school in 1942 and lived in town with his family until 2018.  He and his late wife, “Katie” could be seen at every home and away P’burg football game and wrestling match until 2016.

Charlie retired as a supervisor from Elizabethtown Gas Company, New Village, N.J. in 1986 after a lifelong career.  Upon his retirement he could be found almost daily at Oak Hill Golf Course in Milford, N.J. playing a friendly round with his buddies.

Having always been very civic-minded, Charlie was honored by the Warren County Board of Chose Freeholders as the 2001 Outstanding Senior Citizen.  He was cited as “a champion of many innovations and initiatives in Warren County which benefited citizens of all ages”.  He was involved in the Blue Light emergency response program, the RSVP reading program, and served on the Office of Aging Advisory Council, Tri-County and Quad Legislative Committees, where he served as a delegate to the statewide planning committee.

Charlie was a founding member and legislative chairman of the Philipsburg Chapter of American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

Charlie served on the board of the Phillipsburg Senior Center for many years, in addition to being an active community servant on the Phillipsburg Town Council and the Phillipsburg School Board.
