Isaiah Henry Massey, 82, of Alpha, NJ, departed this life on February 4, 2020 in Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ.

Isaiah was born on April 29, 1937 in Chatham County, North Carolina to Fred and Roberta (Council) Massey. He was the second youngest of 19 children.

Isaiah retired after 27 years of dedicated service to the City of Newark, NJ.

He is survived by two daughters, Lolitha Dennis and her husband Offie of Alpha, NJ; Roxie Moore of Durham, NC; nine grandchildren, Aisha, Andre, Kiana, Shaketa, Darryl, De-Idra, Darius, Elisia, and Alethia; 15 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Preceeded in death by Catherine Massey-Jackson; 18 siblings; a son, Daryl Massey; a grandson, Offie R. Dennis and a son in-law, Ellis Moore.

A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020, in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 137 Chambers Street, Phillipsburg, New Jersey. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Condolences on the passing of Uncle Ike--Mom's last sibling. We were saddened to hear the news.

It was always a joy to see him at our family reunions. Our prayers are extended and safe travels to our NC family attending the services.

Uncle Ike, the last, We are so sad and sorrowful for his passing. With his passing comes a flood of memories. Let us now rejoice in those memories and in our hearts feel the joy of all the brothers and sisters rejoicing together with the Father. Now we must pray and stay together for this is what I know they all would want. Love you all MASSEY & ATWATER. God Bless Us All!
