Agnes M (Rossi) Castaldi

Agnes M. Castaldi, 96, formerly of Harmony Township, N.J., died November 15, 2019 in Missoula, Montana where she resided since 2018.

Born October 31, 1923 in the New Village section of Franklin Township, N.J. she was a daughter of the late Marino and Catterina (Pompili) Rossi.

Agnes worked as a homemaker, mother, seamstress and realtor.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Belvidere, NJ and long-time member of the Altar & Rosary Society.

She was previously a member of the Harmony Seniors, Harmony, NJ and the Over-Fifties Club of St. Philip and St. James Church, Phillipsburg, NJ. Agnes also served with the Women's Club of Belvidere and the Warren County Home Economics Extension Service.

Her husband of fifty-nine years, the late Arthur P. Castaldi, died in 2005.

Agnes always looked forward to the next social opportunity and never met a stranger. She was endlessly grateful for the simple blessings that came her way. She was an extraordinarily strong person and a devoted mother to the very end.

Survivors include her son, Brian Castaldi and his wife Correen; a daughter, Elaine Young; a brother, Ezio Rossi; a sister Anna Massie and five grandchildren - Jill Young, Sara, Nicholas, Kate and Emma Castaldi. A sister, Frances Podboreski died earlier.

Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 6, 2019, in St.
Patrick Catholic Church, 327 Greenwich St, Belvidere, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at Noon. Burial will be in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ with Celebration of Life to follow at Flynn’s in Phillipsburg from 2-5 P.M.
