Alfred C. Franks, 84, of Phillipsburg, N.J., formerly of Frenchtown, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on February 22, 2023
Born on July 9, 1938, in Somerville, N.J., Alfred was the son of the late John Joseph Franks and Harriet La Poidevin of Plainfield, N.J.
Alfred graduated from Frenchtown High School and proudly served in the United States Army as a PFC (E3). He worked at T.J. Lipton (PepsiCo) and Bemis Company, Inc., in Flemington, N.J., and Wegmans, which he later retired from, located in Somerville, N.J. Alfred was a loyal member of the American Legion.
Alfred cared deeply for those close to him and loved to spend time with his family and friends. His favorite hobbies included playing pool and watching sports. Alfred was a multidimensional man with a rough exterior and a wonderful, kind heart. His loving nature was shown through his compassion for his friends and family. He was a keen listener that saved his sage words until the end of a conversation. He would save his rye satirical wit to punctuate the conversation. His smile could be seen in the glint of his eye and countenance during a conversation.
Alfred is survived by his loving wife, Margaret "Marge" (Weaver) Franks; daughters Tina Andresen and Jaime Dayton, and their husbands Erick Andresen and husband Tim Dayton; grandchildren Kayleigh and Keira Andresen, and Camille and Bryce Dayton. Alfred was predeceased by his sons Daniel C. Franks and John A. Franks, whom he now joins.
No services will be held.
