Alma J (Wismer) Pursell

Alma J. Pursell, 87, of Phillipsburg, died June 12, 2016 in her home.

Born March 27, 1929 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Raymond G. Sr. and Helen M. Romig Wismer.

Alma retired from the kitchen at Warren Hospital in 1981. She then worked for the Warren County Nutrition program at the Bernardine-May American Legion Post, Phillipsburg.

Survivors include two sons, Paul E. and his wife, Brenda and Russell A. "Rusty" and his wife, Patricia, both of  Phillipsburg; a sister, Evelyn Duckworth of Alpha, NJ; four grandchildren, Richard Shiller, Russell Pursell, Jr. and his wife, Jessica, Katrina and Steven Pursell; three great-grandchildren, Cheyenne and Richard Shiller and Gabe.

A brother, Raymond G. Wismer, Jr. and five sisters, Geraldine Taylor, Helen M. Sutton, Gladys Warne, Hilda Wismer and Mildred Petchonka all died earlier.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St,  Phillipsburg. Services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Private cremation will follow the services. Online condolences can be submitted by visiting www.noto-wynkoop.com.
