Ann Bodai, 90, of Oceanside, NY, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Monday, October 15, 2012, in the home of her daughter, Terry Holloway, where she and her now late husband, John, had lived the past few years.
Born August 1, 1922 in Martin’s Creek, Pa, she was a daughter of the late John Bertha and Julia Zuber Bertha Osze.
Ann attended the former Centerfield School, Martin’s Creek, Pa before attending high school.
Ann enjoyed being a homemaker and dedicated her time to making a large variety of beautiful crafts, at which she excelled. She also enjoyed baking and sharing what she baked with others. Ann was noted for her candy making, and enjoyed filling orders throughout the year.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ, where her and her husband, John Bodai, were married April 18, 1942. John died May 16, 2012, after 70 years of marriage to Ann.
Ann leaves behind a son, Dale, and his wife, Brenda, of Saylorsburg; two daughters, Shirley Fink Johnson and her husband, Thomas, of Phillipsburg and Terry L. Holloway and her husband, Henry, of Oceanside, NY; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Three sisters, Susan Rader, Elizabeth McLaughlin and Julia Wagner and five brothers, Steven, Alexander, Dennis, John and Joseph, all died earlier.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Thursday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will begin at 11:00 in the funeral home.
