Anne Marie Grando, 98, formerly of Palmer Township, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021 at Moravian Village of Bethlehem.
Born on August 12, 1922 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Sebastiano and Anna Insana Todaro, both from Santo Stefano di Camastra on Sicily's north coast.
Her husband, the late Carl J. Grando, died August 5, 1984.
Anne Marie graduated from Phillipsburg High School, and received degrees from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and the PBA Commercial School of Banking at Bucknell University.
She spent more than 35 years in the banking industry, working at Lafayette Trust Bank as a vice president and also serving as assistant treasurer at the Easton branch. After retiring from Lafayette Trust, she returned to work as an assistant manager of the Easton branch of The First National Bank of Allentown. She was a member of the Soroptimist Club of Easton and Phillipsburg and a long-time member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Palmer Township. Anne Marie also previously served on the Palmer Township Board of Supervisors.
Anne Marie was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Peter Todaro, Salvatore (Sam) Todaro, Joseph Todaro, Rose Gianetto, Lena Leardi and Grace Todaro, several of whom she cared for later in life. She was also preceded in death by beloved nephews Anthony Leardi, Jr. and Lawrence Gianetto.
Survivors: Nieces, Janet Wallace (Doug) of Bethlehem, PA and Anne Marie Gianetto of Spokane, WA; Nephews, Robert Gianetto (Marilyn) of Olympia, WA, Thomas Gianetto of Spokane, WA and Joseph Todaro, Jr. (Susan) of Millville, DE. 9 grandnieces and nephews, 10 great-grandnieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
