Arthur R. Pacenti, 96, of Lopatcong Township, NJ, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in his home.
Born March 5, 1918 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Aggeo and Mary (Sheola) Pacenti.
He was a former self-employed dry cleaner in the Phillipsburg area.
He was Staff Sgt. in the Army during World War Two where he worked with radio intelligence.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. He was a former member of the Lopatcong Township Recreation Committee. He enjoyed being outdoors, especially taking walks and hikes.
His wife of sixty-seven years, the former Santa "Sandra" Maragulia, died March 23, 2014.
Survivors include a son, James R. Pacenti of Martins Creek, Pa.; A brother, Edward; four sisters, Irene Noto, Dorothy Gallucci, Lorraine Pacenti and Jeanette Castellano; three granddaughters, Christine, Trish and Jamie and two great-grandchildren, Carly and Steven. A son, Robert; a brother, James and two sisters, Denna Merlo and Lena Attinello all died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, (the location where he and his family lived when he was a child.) 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Township, NJ.
