Barbara Lynne (Anderson) Purcell

Barbara Lynne Purcell, 63, of Stewartsville, NJ, died peacefully in her home with her family by her side.

Born October 15, 1959 in Harrisburg, PA, Barbara was a daughter of the late William and June (Garey) Anderson.

Barbara graduated from Watchung Hills High School in Warren, NJ and West Virginia Wesleyan College. She earned her Master degree from Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ. She formerly taught school in Somerset County, Greenwich Nursery School as well as the Franklin Township Elementary School in Franklin Township, Warren County, NJ.

Barbara was a member of the Greenwich Township Volunteer Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was also a member of the Wild Center, Tupper Lake, NY.

Barbara was a loving wife and mother who always found beauty in nature, friends, family and education. She touched so many people's hearts through her sunshining personality and delightful deposition. She always called teaching her happy place and often spent her free time gardening or simply enjoying the sunset on her back porch, surrounded by song birds and flowers with her family.

Survivors include her husband of thirty-nine years, Charles "Chuck" A. Purcell; two sons, Charles W. Purcell of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and Dale Purcell of Pohatcong Township, NJ; a sister, Patricia Anderson of Troy, NY and her two children, Thomas Anderson and Jocelyn Andrae.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Barbara's life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Greenwich Township Emergency Squad, 515 North Main Street, Stewartsville, NJ.

Those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donation to the Greenwich Township Emergency Squad in Barbara's name.
