Bernard Bullock, Jr. Obituary

Bernard "Bernie" F. Bullock Jr, 70, of Statesville, NC, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, was peacefully welcomed into the arms of our Lord on January 2, 2024.

He was born May 9,1953 to the late Bernard F. Bullock and Phyllis (Berger) Bullock.

As a young boy, Bernie became involved in the family-run Bullock Brothers Auto Salvage, working with his father and uncle. He later was a delivery driver for Wonder Bread in Washington, NJ, a parts deliverer for Lentine Auto Salvage in Flemington, NJ, was a mechanic at the Gulf Gas Station, First Student Bus Company (formerly Village Bus Co.) and Johnny's Automotive, all in Phillipsburg, NJ After moving to North Carolina, he worked at the Lowe's distribution center in Statesville, NC.

Bernie was a part of the First Baptist Church family in Mooresville, NC since 2018, there, he volunteered for the First and GOAL Ministry with Dr. Jerry Cloninger. He previously worshiped at Calvary Baptist Church, Easton, PA before relocating to NC.

Bernie loved the Lord and his family fiercely. Our three children, their spouses and our six precious grandchildren meant everything to him and were his top priority. Always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends whenever he could.

His three year cancer journey changed his life in many ways but his faith continually remained strong. His hope has always been in Jesus. He is at peace now. Because he believed, God has given him eternal life with no more pain, sickness, tears or cancer. To God be the glory!

In addition to his parents, Bernie was preceded in death by his former wife (mother of his sons) Susan (Boyer) Bullock.

Survived by his wife of seventeen years, Karen (Bartha) Bullock; two sons, Bernard III "Bernie" and his wife Ashlee, Charles "Chuck" and his wife Jess and daughter, Veronica Horvath and her husband Jonathan. He will be greatly missed by his amazing grandchildren CJ and Alexis Horvath, Giovanni Rodriguez, Jackson, Luci and Levi Bullock; two brothers, Michael and William "Bill" Bullock; three sisters, Barbara and Mary Bullock and Beverly Mellarkey; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He loved the Wynkoop family as members of his family as well.

We are saddened by his death but rejoice in his eternal life. Till we see you again.
