Bernard “Tonner” Pyatt, 49, of Phillipsburg, died Friday, July 5, 2013 in St. Luke’s Hospital – Warren Campus, Phillipsburg.
Born March 5, 1964 in Fort Hood, Texas, he was a son of Howard “Zeke” and Shirley Werkheiser Pyatt of Phillipsburg.
Tonner attended Phillipsburg High School and graduated from the Paul Hall Center for Maritime Training and Education, Piney Point, Maryland and became a United States Merchant Marine as a cook.
He was a former machine operator at Bihler of American, Alpha, NJ.
Tonner enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a Tony Stewart fan; he enjoyed fishing, being with his friends, cooking and fixing cars. He was also a Texas A&M and a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors include his parents; two brothers Travis, Tracy and his fiancée, Stephanie Lander, both of Phillipsburg; a sister, Robyn Morgan and her husband, John of Magnolia, Delaware; fourteen nieces and nephews and two great nephews; and close friends, Rich and Debbie Gellock.
Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will be private.
