Bertha H. (Scott) Lippincott Fowler, 85, of Costa Mesa, CA, formerly of Phillipsburg, died December 20, 2014.
Born January 2, 1929 in Holland Township, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Elizabeth (Ganter) Scott, Sr.
Bertha retired from the housekeeping department at Warren Hospital in 1994 after 20 years of service. She then volunteered as a foster grandparent at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, Clinton, NJ.
Survivors include a son, Charles A. Lippincott, II and his wife, Eileen, of Phillipsburg, NJ; a daughter, Mary E. Clarkson and her husband, James, of Fountain Valley, CA; a sister, Carrie Shaffer of Holland Township, NJ; two grandchildren, Jennifer Pruznick and Michael Pruznick and his wife, Vera; four great-grandchildren and four step-children. Two husbands, Charles A. Lippincott and Donald P. Fowler; two brothers, Samuel H. Scott, Jr, and William H. Scott and seven sisters, Jessie Imboden, Catherine Nielson, Ruth Chase, Grace Wildonger, Gene Appleget, Dorothy Height and Edith Pursell all died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Monday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
