Carolyn (White) Dennis

Carolyn Dennis, 73, of Union Township, NJ, died February 12, 2019.

 

Born September 3, 1945 in Clayton, Manchester, England, she was a daughter of the late Alfred White, Sr. and Carrie (Phillips) White. While living in England, she attended the Birley High School in Manchester.

 

Carolyn emigrated to the United States in 1964 and became a citizen in 1989.

 

She formerly worked as an Au Pair in Bedminister, NJ and later, with her love of sewing, she became a seamstress at the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for Women in Clinton, NJ and the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility in Annandale, NJ.

 

She enjoyed bike riding, going to the beach and being an avid fan of whatever her grandchildren were doing.

 

Carolyn's husband of fifty-one years, Jens Dennis, died February 28, 2017.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Tracy Hendershot and her husband, Steven, of Phillipsburg; three brothers, Derek and Peter White of Manchester, England and David White of Buxton, Maine; two granddaughters, Alisha and Brianna Dennis and a grandson, Jacob Hendershot;  a sister-in-law Elanore Gianquitti, and a brother-in-law Conrad Dennis Sr.

 

A son, Dwayne J. Dennis, a brother, Alfred White and a sister, Brenda White, all died earlier.

 

Visitation will be held 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. www.noto-wynkoop.com. Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday in the Bloomsbury Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
