Charles J. "Chuck" Slack, Sr., 82, of Lopatcong Township, New Jersey, died Saturday, April 22, 2017.
Born February 5, 1935 in Asbury, (Hunterdon County) New Jersey, he was a son of the late John H. and Adah (Stevenson) Slack.
Chuck was a corporal in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He was a truck driver most of his life and worked for Branch Trucking, F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Co., Foglesville, PA; Exide Battery Co, Allentown, PA, Keystone Snacks, Palmer Township, PA and Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg.
He was a member of the Mack Truck Million Mile Club, the Mecsy-Bishop American Legion Post 456 in Stewartsville, a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group and The American Motorcyclist Association, a life member and past president of the Bushkill Valley Motorcycle Club, Easton, PA and a member of the Masonic Lodge 152 in Easton.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Stewartsville.
His wife of 52 years, the former Joan P. Unangst died in 2008.
Survivors include a daughter Joann L. Slack Hassan and her husband, Stephen of Phillipsburg; a brother, John and his wife Mae of Pohatcong Township. In addition to his wife, a son, Charles J. "Chuckie" Slack, Jr., a grandson, Charles J. Slack III and four sisters all died earlier.
Visitations will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday and from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Stewartsville, NJ.
