Clarence F Minnich

Clarence F. “Sonny” Minnich, 86, of Lehighton, PA died November 1, 2015 in his home.

Born January 29, 1929 in Parryville, PA, he was a son of the late Franklin L. and Bessie I. (Braerman) Minnich.

Clarence served as a medical technician in the Army during World War Two. He was awarded  the WWII Victory Ribbon, Meritorious Unit Award and the American Theater Ribbon. He also served with the Pennsylvania National Guard, Private Company B, 164th Military Police Battalion.

He worked for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, PA, for 40 years before his retirement in 1994. He formerly worked for the Central Railroad, General Motors and Bethlehem Steel.

He was of the Protestant faith. He was a life member of the Lehigh Fire Co. No. 1, Lehighton,  PA. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Penn State football.

Clarence and his wife, the former Elaine V. Lewis, observed their 66th wedding anniversary Sept 3, 2015.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Christine L. Santore and her husband Angelo of Nesquehoning, PA, Michele R. Nothstein and her husband Thomas of Lehighton, PA and Lisa J. Wynkoop and her husband Timothy of Phillipsburg, NJ; two sons, Michael A. and his wife, Mary Ann of Lehighton, PA and Christopher E. and his wife Marca of Berkeley, CA;; a brother, Carl L. "Dook" of Allentown, PA; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Family members that died earlier include a grandson, Marc Andrew Minnich; three brothers, Sterling H., William and Jack; five sisters, Janice Kunkle, Myrtle Niedzinski and Joyce Santora, Gladys Mertz and Leona Frable.
