It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia (Gigi) Jarose-Martinez of Lopatcong Township, NJ on September 26, 2024. She was 75.
Born May 18, 1949, in Doylestown PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late John F. Jarose and Alma O. Jarose (nee Bergey).
Gigi was a graduate of Central Bucks High School Class of 1967, and a 1970 graduate of Eastern Montgomery Area Vocational-Technical School, where she received her Practical Nursing Diploma. Passionate about the field of Nursing, Gigi continued her education over a decade later and in 1987 she received her R.N. degree from Somerset County College as a Dean's List scholar.
From a very early age, Gigi was truly a force. Her outgoing nature, sharp wit, and innate charm endeared her to most everyone who met her. With her friendly nature Gigi would turn strangers she met into friends, and was loved by many people during her lifetime, most notably her son Matthew, daughter-in-law Jackie, and her two beautiful grandsons, Max and Sam.
After graduating from Somerset County College, Gigi worked for the Carrier Clinic in Belle Meade, NJ for many years. She also spent several years working for the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility, where she led a variety of vital substance abuse programs. Passionate about the field of Addiction Medicine, she continued her education to include additional certifications in Substance Abuse Counseling and worked with many who suffered with Substance Use Disorder over the course of her career.
Gigi was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma Jarose, as well as her brother John Dennis Jarose, who were surely there to welcome her into God's Kingdom.
Gigi is survived by her son, Matthew S. Gazzillo and his wife Jackie, grandsons Max and Sam of Pittstown, NJ; a brother Bruce Jarose and his wife Suzanne of Doylestown, PA and a niece Amy Jarose of Longwood, FL, as well as many loving friends and former coworkers.
