Donald Jay "Skip" Sleight, Sr., 89, of Phillipsburg, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, December 16, 2017.
Born in Phillipsburg Oct 16, 1928, he was a son of the late George and Cecilia (Hocking) Sleight.
He received an honorable discharge after serving in the Army and Army Reserves from 1950 to 1956.
He worked for Easton Paint-Up, Easton before establishing Skip's Flooring in Lopatcong in 1965.
He was a member of the Old Friends Club; Phillipsburg Chapter 4704 of AARP and the Savvy Senior Group of Easton Hospital. He enjoyed traveling extensively to foreign countries and numerous bus trips to shows and dinners.
His wife, and the mother of all their children, Shirley (Graham) Sleight died in 1969.
Survivors include his life partner of 32 years, Linda Geisberger with whom he lived and her sons Chip and Kirk, both of Easton, Pa.; his son, Donald, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Greenville, NC; daughters Donna DeBenedetto and her husband Steve Kanewski of Easton, Pa, Debbie Green and her husband Michael of Saylorsburg, Pa, Deena Sleight of Bethlehem and Doreen Meglic and her husband, James of Greenville, NC; a sister, Joan Koch and her husband Tom of Lopatcong Township, NJ; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A brother George Sleight died earlier.
The Rev. Sean Hinton, Pastor of ElShaddai Assembly of God Church, Nazareth, will officiate graveside services, 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
