Doris J (Swauger) Casey

Doris J. Casey, 93, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died June 6, 2022.

Born September 10, 1928 in Easton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late B. Peter and Frances (Watkus) Swauger.

She was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Phillipsburg where she was a member of the woman's group. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, The Phillipsburg Irish Club and the Phillipsburg Senior Center.

She enjoyed bowling, taking her children and grandchildren swimming, Notre Dame football, traveling, line dancing and family outings. She was also a long-time NY Mets and Jets fan.

Doris worked for Binney and Smith, Easton, Pa for 34 years in the manufacturing of crayons and markers. She formerly worked as a secretary for Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg.

Her husband, Robert J. Casey died July 23, 1983.

Survivors include a son, Robert. J. Casey, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Glendon, Pa; a daughter, Doris J. Lauer and her husband Raymond of Phillipsburg; two grandchildren, Brenna and Braydon Lauer; step-grandchildren, Eleanor, Christian, Liam and Dean Weber; many nieces and nephews and the family dog Koda. Doris' brother, Peter Swauger died in 1997.

Visitation will be held 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, Phillipsburg. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwich Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
