Dorothy A. “Dot” Casey, 95, of Forks Township, PA, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Country Meadows Retirement Community, Forks Township; she was formerly a resident of Stewartsville, NJ.

Born on April 21, 1930, in Hokendauqua, PA, Dorothy was the daughter of the late John M. Gornick, Sr. and Anna E. (Lelko) Gornick.

Over the years, Dorothy held a variety of positions of employment. She worked as the manager of the former Schiable’s Bakery Store in Wilson Borough, PA, as a salesclerk at Orr’s Department Store in Phillipsburg, NJ and at the former H. & L. Green Department Store in Easton, PA. She also volunteered at Phillipsburg Catholic High School, and later in life, with the Norwescap Meals on Wheels Program and at Warren Hospital.

Dorothy was a graduate of Easton High School.

She was raised in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Easton before becoming a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church in Phillipsburg following her marriage. She also attended Masses at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bloomsbury, NJ.

Dorothy took tremendous pride in her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling and gardening, and she was a proud member of the Slovak Bowling League in Phillipsburg.

Her husband of thirty-eight years, Leo Casey, passed away on August 2, 1988.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Kathleen Jinks and her husband, Roger, of Lopatcong Twp., NJ; Patricia Miller and her companion, Ken Scarr, of Franklin Twp., NJ; a son, Leo J. Casey, and his wife, Valerie, of Toms River, NJ; as well as her son-in-law, David E. Wieller, of Harmony, NJ. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Maria Jinks; Kathleen Carter and her husband Ben; Roger Jinks, Jr. and his wife Kim; Taryn Abernethy; David M. Wieller and his wife Amy. Eight great‑grandchildren: Dylan and Samuel Carter; Aubrey Jinks and Adrian Jinks and his wife Emily; Oliver and Carter Abernethy; and Vaughn and Violet Wieller; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Eileen E. Wieller and two brothers, John M. Gornick, Jr. and Robert J. Gornick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 80 Main Street, Bloomsbury, NJ 08804. Burial will be in St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
