Edey Margarita Chiaraviglio

Edey "Cookie" Margarita Chiaraviglio passed away peacefully at her home August 7, 2022 at the age of 72 from breast cancer.

Born on November 26th, 1949 in Argentina, she was the youngest daughter of the late Pedro and María Chiaraviglio. She grew up on a farm where working hard was instilled in her from a very young age. She loved telling stories of her upbringing on the farm as the youngest of twelve children and of how her parents eloped from Italy. She was an incredibly strong-willed, generous, and caring woman. She was kind to everyone and loved children, especially her own and her grandchildren. She worked as a child caregiver for most of her life. She enjoyed volunteering for local organizations helping people in the community and freely gave much of her time to these endeavors in her later years.

She is survived by her two daughters: Lillian Rios and her husband Inocencio of New Jersey and Vanessa Distabile and her husband Andrew of Virginia. Grandchildren: Cynthia and Daniel Rios, and Zoey Distabile. Siblings: Juan, Maria, Pedro, and Marta. She was predeceased by her parents, two husbands, and seven siblings.

A private scattering of ashes ceremony is planned for a future date.

In memory of Edey, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in lieu of flowers.

Edey "Cookie" Margarita Chiaraviglio falleció en paz en su casa el 7 de Agosto 2022, a la edad de 72 años a causa de un cáncer de mama.

Nacida el 26 de noviembre de 1949 en Argentina, era la hija menor de los fallecidos Pedro y María Chiaraviglio. Creció en una finca donde le inculcaron el trabajo duro desde muy pequeña. Le encantaba contar historias de su crianza en la granja como la menor de doce hijos y de cómo sus padres se fugaron de Italia. Era una mujer increíblemente fuerte, generosa y cariñosa. Era amable con todos y amaba a los niños, especialmente a los suyos y a sus nietos. Trabajó como cuidadora de niños la mayor parte de su vida. Disfrutaba ser voluntaria para organizaciones locales que ayudaban a las personas de la comunidad y dedicó libremente gran parte de su tiempo a estos esfuerzos en sus últimos años.

Le sobreviven sus dos hijas: Lillian Rios y su esposo Inocencio de Nueva Jersey y Vanessa Distabile y su esposo Andrew de Virginia. Nietos: Cynthia y Daniel Rios, y Zoey Distabile. Hermanos: Juan, María, Pedro y Marta. Sus padres, dos esposos y siete hermanos fallecieron antes que ella.

Se planea una ceremonia privada de dispersión de cenizas para una fecha futura.
