Edgar L Thorpe

Edgar "Ed" Lee Thorpe, 56, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died August 10, 2023.

Born September 8, 1966 in Easton, PA, Ed was a son of Emma Lillian (Glanz) Thorpe of Phillipsburg and the late Merle Robert Thorpe.

Ed was a laborer with Largo Paving of Stewartsville, NJ for many years.

Ed was a loving son, brother, companion (of over 40 years), father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved fishing, swimming, watching NASCAR, the Iron Pigs, drinking his Budweiser and loved watching wrestling. He enjoyed camping and traveling with family. He was a hard-headed, stubborn man, but had the biggest heart and would help anyone.

He is survived by his mother; a daughter, Jessica Thorpe of Phillipsburg; a companion, Mary Stone of Phillipsburg; a brother Merle Glanz and a sister Rosemary Thorpe, both of Phillipsburg; a granddaughter Emma Bartholomew and Edgar's best friend, Joshua Shedd of Columbia, SC. A son, Edgar Brian Stone died earlier.

A visitation period will be held from Noon to 2:00 pm, Monday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. www.noto-wynkoop.com.
