Edward R. Hull, Jr., 60, of Phillipsburg, died suddenly, December 26, 2018.
Born September 15, 1958 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the only child born to Elizabeth (Hargreaves) Hull of Hope, NJ and the late
Edward R. Hull, Sr.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. He was also a member of
B.A.C.K., a non-profit motorcycle organization dedicated to providing charities for the families of fallen police officers.
He was a Navy Veteran.
Ed was a long-time wrestling coach in Phillipsburg, with the Steele Hill Youth Organization, where he was a past-president and the Phillipsburg Middle School, where he coached until 2017.
He previously worked at the Asbury Graphite Mill in Asbury, NJ, then J. T. Baker Chemical Co., Phillipsburg. For the past few years, Ed was a crossing guard for the Town of Phillipsburg.
Ed also enjoyed being Santa Claus for many years at area schools, parties, malls and anywhere a Santa was needed. Because of this, he was known to his biker friends as "Klawz".
Ed and his wife, the former Gloria M. Lauer, observed their twenty-ninth wedding anniversary June 24th.
In addition to his mother and wife, Ed is survived by three sons, Ryan, Brandon and Eddie and two daughters, Loren Hull and Jessica Taylor; two brother-in-laws and their spouses, Edward and Janine Lauer, Raymond and Doris Lauer, and a sister-in-law, Judy Wolfinger and her husband Gary; step brother and sisters, Robert Reinhard, Nancy Batarick, Ruth McCann and Sandra "Sam" Daney and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the church, 426 S. Main Street, Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Township, NJ.
