Gerilyn R Brereton

Gerilyn R. Brereton, 58, of Pohatcong Township, NJ, died unexpectedly at home on March 22, 2017.

Born October 13, 1958 in Newark NJ, she was the youngest of eight children born to Matthew and Florence (Lane) Brereton.

She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth in Morristown, NJ

Gerilyn was a dedicated recreational therapist for the Veteran’s Hospital in Lyons, NJ where she coordinated many field trips and activities for the veterans enjoyment. She used her creativity to develop programs that engaged the veterans at every level.  She took great pride and joy from her job.

She loved, reading, knitting, and movies.

Her family will always remember her as a sweet, beloved, kind-hearted sister, aunt and friend who, despite many obstacles in her life, remained extraordinarily pleasant and will be missed dearly.

Survived by siblings Matthew Brereton, Kathy Valenick, Raymond Brereton, Debbie Brereton, Joseph Brereton, Marlane & Ralph Roth, Al and Liz Jordan and many nieces and nephews.
