Gladys A. Boyer, 83, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, October 3, 2009 in Triumph Hospital, Wilson Borough.
Born August 28, 1926, in Easton, Pa, she was the only child of the late Levi and Florence I. Woodring Rush.
Gladys graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1944 and has served as recording secretary of her class for many years.
She worked as a waitress for more than thirty years at the former John Dolak American Legion Post in Alpha, NJ until the late 1980's. She also worked at the Carmelcorn Shop in Easton during the 1980's as well.
Gladys was a member of and volunteered at the Phillipsburg Senior Center and also volunteered at the Lopatcong Care Center and was an avid bingo player.
She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Phillipsburg.
Her husband, the late Charles A. Boyer, died in 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Gary A. Boyer and his wife Tina, of Lopatcong Township and Ray Cole and his wife, Mary Lou, of Mansfield, Pa; two daughters, Gail L. Bundro of Phillipsburg and Charlene A. Klipple and her husband Dennis of Nazareth; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Susan E. Bullock.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the church, 35 Miller Street, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
