Harry A. Beers, 73, of Pohatcong Township, NJ, died Monday, April 16, 2018 in the Brakeley Park Center, Lopatcong Township, NJ.
Born Wednesday, June 21, 1944 in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was a son of the late Alvin Alfred Beers and Helen (Bruch) Beers.
Harry was a Specialist 4th Class in the Army, serving in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
Harry retired as a Blowmold Lead Man from Readington Farms in Whitehouse, NJ after more than 30 years of service.
He was a social member of the Huntington Vol. Fire Co., Pohatcong Twp., NJ and the Alpha Vol. Fire Co., Alpha, NJ; he was a member of the former Elk's Lodge in Easton; he was a life member of the Young Men's Italian Association (Y.M.I.A.), Phillipsburg and was a formerly active member of the Easton Area Quoit League and bowling leagues in the Phillipsburg and Easton area for many years. He enjoyed all Phillipsburg High School sports, hunting, fishing, football and NASCAR.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Denise DeMarco (Pete) of Pohatcong Township, NJ and Deborah Bodogh (Charles, Jr. "Chuck") of Alpha, NJ; two granddaughters, Angelena and Giuliana DeMarco and a brother, David of Phillipsburg. A brother George H. Beers died earlier.
A memorial gathering will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg. A service of remembrance will begin at 4:00 p.m. www.noto-wynkoop.com.
Burial and military honors will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 23, 2018 in the Fairmount Cemetery, Belvidere Road, Phillipsburg, NJ.
