Janice "Jan" (Parker) Lusardi Nordfors, 74, of Lopatcong Township, formerly of Hampton, NJ, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011.
Born May 24, 1937 in Easton, Pa, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie Mae Steckel Parker
Jan was a former police matron for Lebanon Township, NJ police department, retiring in the early 1990's. She previously served as a special officer with the Hampton Borough Police Department, Hampton, NJ and was a realtor for the former Butler Realty in Clinton.
She was in the first police academy class that included women. She was a former member of the Hampton PTA, Hampton Fire Company Ladies Axillary and the Hampton Recreation Association.
She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
Jan was married to the late Italo Lusardi, who died in 1986 and the late Conrad Nordfors who died in 2003.
Survivors include three sons; Michael D. and his wife Debra, of Lee Summit, Missouri, Phillip I and his wife Elizabeth, of Willow Spring, North Carolina and Joseph and his wife, Valerie of Lopatcong Township; a brother, Wayne Parker and his wife, Paulette of Lancaster, Pa and a sister, Patricia Parker and her husband, Edward Conrad, of Holland Township; five grandchildren, Stephanie, Allison, Jeffrey, Lauren, Susan and Isabela Lusardi; two step-grandchildren, Erika Wilson and James Nordfors, and a step-great grandson, Xavier Wilson. Two step-sons, James and William and a step-grandson, Daniel Nordfors, all died earlier.
Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m., in the church, 426 S Main Street, Phillipsburg.
