Jeanette Lucas Obituary
Jeanette Lucas, 86, of Nazareth, Pa, formerly of Lebanon and Phillipsburg, NJ, died Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Born August 23, 1933 in Eckley, Pa, Jeanette was a daughter of the late John and Susan (Kislan) Washko and step-mother, Mary Popovec.
Her husband of 42 years, Edward S. Lucas, Sr. died September 15, 1993.
Jeanette assisted her husband in operating Rin's Tire Service in Lebanon, NJ for 25 years.
Jeanette was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg; was a former board member of the Warren County Serra Club, a Catholic organization; a former CCD teacher at St. Philip and St. James Church and was a former secretary for the Hunterdon Hills Lioness Club.
She is survived by two sons, Edward S. Lucas, Jr. of Easton, Pa and David J. Lucas of Bushkill Township, Pa.; a sister Irene Hametz of New Tripoli, Pa; a brother John Washko of Hazelton, Pa.; three grandchildren Susan Frammigen, Steven Lucas and Ashley Smith and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mary Lemke and Anna Mae Podolock died earlier.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday in St. Philip & St. James Church, 426 S Main St, Phillipsburg. (Those attending must wear a mask) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
