John H. Stocker, Jr, 79, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died July 2, 2022 in his home with his loving wife of fifty-four years and his family by his side.
Born November 8, 1942 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late John H. Stocker, Sr. and Laura L. (Slack) Stocker.
John was a machine operator at the former American Paper Products in Alpha, NJ.
He and his wife, Shirley A. (Masker) Stocker were foster parents for about 150 children over 32 years.
John loved the beach in the summer, going to breakfast in the morning and enjoyed grocery shopping everyday.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by five daughters, Donna Frankenfield (Mark), Cheryl VanDuyne (Russell "Rusty"), Stephanie, Monica and Jessica Stocker (Thomas Tolotta) and a son, Ian Stocker-Seigel; four sisters, Martha Silverthorn, Barbara DeGroat , Sharon Marason and Nancy Stocker; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:00, Thursday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St, Phillipsburg. (www.noto-wynkoop.com). Services will begin at 11:00. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Harmony Township, NJ.
