Joseph P. Meglic, 94, of Tatamy, Pa, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Saturday, March 29, 2014 in St. Luke's Hospital – Anderson Campus, Bethlehem Township, Pa.
Born February 18, 1920 in Youngstown, OH, he was a son of the late George P. and Amelia (Trkmic) Meglic.
He honorably served in the Navy in the Philippines during World War Two. He was a member of the Order of Fleas, Easton, where he enjoyed bowling. He retired in 1982 as a chemical operator from J.T. Baker Chemical, Phillipsburg. He formerly worked as a weaver at McGinley Mills, Phillipsburg and Sealy Tube, Dover, NJ.
Joseph and his wife, the former Marie E. Beatty, observed their seventy-second wedding anniversary September 28th.
In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by a son, Richard P. of Palmer Township, Pa; two grandsons, James and his wife, Doreen of Nazareth, Pa and Gregg and his wife Jennifer of Lititz, Pa; five great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; two half sisters, Theresa Degnan-Templeton of Bushkill Township, Pa and Julia Schlert of Easton, Pa. Three brothers, John, Steve and Albert died earlier.
Graveside services and burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in the Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg. There will be no visitation.Arrangements are under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. www.noto-wynkoop.
