Joyce Pyatt Obituary

Joyce P. Pyatt, 79, of Phillipsburg, NJ passed away on May 24, 2026.

Born June 17, 1946, in Phillipsburg, Joyce was the daughter of the late Frederick S. and Cleda V. (Watson) Pyatt.

Joyce never married. She is survived by siblings: Stella Price, Francis Pyatt, Roy Pyatt, all of Phillipsburg; Charlotte Pugh of Whitehall, PA; Virginia Allen and her husband Thomas of Silverdale, WA; and Jane Pyatt of Fort Mohave, AZ. She was preceded in death by her brother Howard “Zeke” Pyatt and his sister, Alberta Black.  She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, all of whom will greatly miss her, as well as her Chihuahua, "Smokey," and her cat, "Charlie".

Joyce formerly worked for Easton Lingerie Manufacturer. Her hobbies included working in her garden, taking care of stray and abandoned animals, cooking, helping others, reading books about animals, and doing crossword puzzles. She was a great listener when you needed to get something off your chest.

Our aunt and sister was a very special person who spoke her mind when she needed to and would never hurt another person.  She loved to watch animal shows, Dallas, and Emergency One. The one thing about her was that she never let an animal suffer.  She also loved to watch NASCAR with her brother Zeke, brother-in-law, Rodger, and her niece Tammy. She also liked to listen to country music, with her favorite singers being Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. She also enjoyed Irish music from Celtic Thunder and Daniel O’Donnell.

Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Friday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. (www.noto-wynkoop.com) Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday in the funeral home as well. Joyce will be buried alongside her parents in the Phillipsburg Cemetery.
