Lawrence Unangst Obituary

 

Lawrence "Larry" Robert Unangst, 73, of Bethlehem, PA, formerly of Easton, PA, died peacefully with his sister Eileen by his side on Friday, October 17, 2025.

Born July 6, 1952 in Wilson Borough, PA, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Iona C. (Lippincott) Unangst.

He graduated Delaware Valley Regional High School in Frenchtown, NJ in 1970. He studied at Moravian College from 1970-1972, Georgetown University in 1974 and graduated with an Associates in Arts degree from Mercer County Community College, Trenton, NJ in 1983.

He proudly served with the Air Force during the Vietnam era from January, 1974 to August 1977. Two of those years, from 1975-77 were spent with the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE), Division 32TFS.

He loved to read history books, especially political history books about former presidents, their policies and how events occurred based on those policies. He also liked to keep up with current events. He also enjoyed watching baseball, especially his favorite team, the Phillies and was interested in photography and developing his own film in his younger years.

Survivors include a brother Thomas B. and his wife Monica; two sisters, Eileen M. Lippincott and her husband Charles and Louise A. Hettman and her husband Patric, along with three nephews and two nieces, four great-nephews and one great-niece. A sister, Robin L. Foder died earlier.

Burial with military honors will be held privately at the Riegelsville Union Cemetery, Riegelsville, PA.
