Lydia K. Herleman, 86, of, Franklin Township, died Saturday, May 14, 2011 in St. Luke’s Hospice, Lower Saucon Township, PA.
Born June 11, 1924 in Jersey City, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Gennarino and Anna DelVecchio.
Lydia graduated Washington High School in 1942.
She was a cashier at the former A&P stores in both Phillipsburg and Easton.
She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren 389, and the Church Women United, Phillipsburg.
Her husband of fifty-five years, the late Martin J. Herleman, died May 10, 2002.
Survivors include a son, Martin P. “Buddy” Herleman, of Franklin Twp; a daughter, Ann Marie Shaneberger, wife of Jack H, of Bath, Pa; two sisters, Helen Gruver of and Josephine “Jo” Zoccola; two grandchildren, Matthew and Christine and a great-grandson, Blaise.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Services will begin 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. in the church 426 South Main St, Phillipsburg.
