Maria Margaret Cook, 69, of Belvidere, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home, Thursday, August 15, 2013, surrounded by her family.
Born March 8, 1944 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret Steinhart Bosco.
She previously worked as a sales clerk at Ford Furniture, worked at the Corner Deli, and operated the gift shop at Hoffman-LaRoche, all in Belvidere.
Whether it was cooking for family and friends, sharing her musical talents, crocheting, traveling, or enjoying various activities with her grandson, Maria gave us joy, laughter and made our days brighter. We are all blessed for having known her. Though we are sad, we're all comforted knowing that she's now at peace in the light of God.
She was the loving wife of forty-seven years to the late Gary L. Cook, who died July 13, 2010. Maria was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by her three children, Kimberly Cook Hanson and her husband, Herb, Christina Cook and Shawn Cook; two sisters, Diane Rainey and Karen Fite; grandchildren Stacey Hanson Evers, Daniel and Jacob Hanson, and Isaac Cook; great grandchild Alexa Evers; sister-in-law Jeanne Bosco and many loving immediate and extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Bosco.
Respecting Maria's wishes, there will be no formal services. The family requests your support through prayer and fond remembrances. Memorial contributions may be made in Maria's name to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice: 99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ 07860. (800) 882-1117 www.karenannquinlanhospice.org.
