Marjorie Elizabeth Brown, affectionately known as “Carrot Top”, 75, of Phillipsburg, NJ, went to be with the angels, October 5, 2018
Born March 12, 1943 in Easton, PA, she was daughter of the late Irvin S. "Brownie" Brown and Genevieve "Jean" E. Leahy Brown.
Marjorie graduated Phillipsburg High School in 1960. She then worked for Lockheed Martin as an assembler. She then worked in quality control for OPT Industries in Lopatcong Township and last worked for Fernwood Transformers in Belvidere, NJ as an assembler.
Marjorie enjoyed playing bingo; enjoyed watching Eagles football, Mets baseball and Phillipsburg High School football; was a Jeff Gordon and NASCAR fan; she also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Resort Casino and Georgia, and most of all, she enjoyed watching her great-nephew, Willie Gordon play baseball. She was a beautiful crocheter and always was proud of her long fingernails that were cared for by Sunny.
Marjorie spent more than 27 years with her companion, Edward O'Connor, with whom she resided.
In addition to her companion, Edward and her great-nephew, Willie, Marjorie is survived by a son, Michael A. Whitehead of Blairsville, GA; a sister, Sharon Lee Smith of E. Stroudsburg, PA; four grandchildren, Michael A. Jr., Tiffany Jean Rummel, April Whitehead and Katlyn Cook; three great-grandchildren, Avery Whitehead, Holden Harper and Milah Moreno; nieces, Stefanie M. Gordon and her husband, Bill and Kathleen M. Hosterman and her husband, David; great-nephew, Braeden Hosterman and great-niece, Scarlett Hosterman; Aunt Alice and Aunt Barbie and many friends too numerious to name. Marjorie loved her two dogs Gidget and Amber that died earlier. She will be missed by her loving family and numerous friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 426 S. Main St, Phillipsburg. Burial will take place in the Greenwich Cemetery, Greenwich Township, NJ.
Donations in Marjorie's name can be sent to, Toy-for-Tots, Salvation Army, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the charity of one's choice.
