Mary S. Holjes, 85 of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016.
Born June 4, 1930 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Mauro and Carmella Anfusa Drago.
Mary formerly worked at T&T Sportswear in Phillipsburg and Magnetic Windings in Palmer Township, Pa. She was also a former lunch room aide at Green Street School, Phillipsburg.
She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg and the church's Over-Fifties Club. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren 389; the Italian American Social Club, Phillipsburg, the Phillipsburg Chapter of A.A.R.P. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling to casinos.
Survivors include a daughter, Tonie Chicchi of Perkasie, Pa; two sons, CD and his wife Yvonne of Harmony Township, NJ and Bodie of California; a brother, Dominic and his wife, Rosalie of Pohatcong Township, NJ; five grandchildren, Connor, Drew and Jordyn Holjes and Devon and Jarrod Chicchi.
Her husband, Francis, a son, Farrell F., two brothers, Louis and Frank and a sister, Jennie Drago all died earlier.
Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Funeral services will begin 9:15 a.m., Monday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main St, Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum, Greenwich Township, NJ.
