Mary Ann (Galanti) DeRea

Mary Ann DeRea, 88, of Forks Township, Pa., passed peacefully May 6, 2022.

Born March 11, 1934 in Pen Argyl, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Earl O. and Elizabeth (Bock) Galanti.

She was a 1951 graduate of Phillipsburg High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society.

She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Mary Ann enjoyed various office jobs prior to her retirement.

Mary Ann loved to laugh and giggle. Her hobbies were Italian cooking, holiday baking, Formula One Racing and observing nature. She also enjoyed reading, especially her daily newspaper and following her family and friends on social media.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph of Emmaus, Pa and Philip and his partner, David Stout of Stillwater, NJ; three daughters, Lisa DeRea Frederiksen and her husband Dennis of Monte Carlo, Monaco, Constance "Connie" Hoglund and her husband David of Bethlehem Twp., Pa. and Carol Howard and her husband Steven of Cape May, NJ; a sister Catherine Dauphin of California; grandchildren Lucas and Jacqueline Frederiksen, Michael Hoglund and his wife Ashley, Kristopher and Timothy Hoglund and Samantha and Marcus Howard; great-grandchildren Brighton, Kinsley, Adalee and Maisie Hoglund and a niece Susan Ayers of Colorado. Mary Ann's longtime companion, Tom Poster and a nephew, Charles "Chuck" Ayers both died earlier.

Visitation will be held 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, Wednesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ. Services will begin at 12:00. Burial will be private. Online condolences may be submitted by visiting www.noto-wynkoop.com.
