Michael J. Frinzi, 90, of Greenwich Township, formerly of Phillipsburg died Tuesday, Ocober 25, 2011 in Warren Hospital.
Born April 27, 1921 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Matthew and Maria Turdo Frinzi.
Michael was a barber for fifty-five years, having co-owned the Modern Barber Shop on South Main Phillipsburg with his brother, Sam, and at the Old Fashioned Barber Shop on New Brunswick Avenue in Pohatcong Township. He was also formerly a realtor with The Budd Agency, Lopatcong Township.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg where he belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus, Warren Council 474, Phillipsburg. He was a member of the John Dolak American Legion Post, Alpha.
He was an Technician 5th Grade in the Army, serving with the 8th Infantry Division during World War Two.
Michael entertained for many years in the Phillipsburg and Easton areas, playing the guitar with the Four Brothers, which became known as The Frinzi Brothers.
His wife, the late Regina (Frinzi) Frinzi died in 1978.
Survivors include his sweetheart of thirty-one years, Rosalie Romeo; a son, Matthew M. and his wife, Mary Ann, of Upper Macungie Township, Pa; a daughter, Mary Ellen Winter and her husband, Stanley, of Forks Township; four grandchildren, Scott and Marc Winter and Mike and Matthew Frinzi; Rosalie's children, Frank, Michael and his wife, Catherine; Kathleen Colson and her husband, Anthony, Roseann LaBar and her husband, Ralph and Louise Pleiss and her husband, Steve.
Three brothers, Charles J., Samuel A. and Thomas A. and two sisters, Lena and Nina all died earlier.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Services will begin 9:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Township.
