Michael T Yacovone

Michael T. Yacovone, 68, formerly of Parsippany, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home in Phillipsburg, NJ, on May 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born July 21, 1956, in Newark, NJ, Michael was the son of the late Olivia Kuhrt Yacovone and Frank Yacovone. He was an avid outdoorsman and a uniquely eclectic soul. Throughout his life, he pursued many paths, most notably working with animals as an animal control officer and farmhand.

Michael had a passion for HAM radio operation, tinkering with electronics, hunting, and fishing. In recent years, he found great joy in spending time with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Oliver.

He is survived by his partner, Deanne Smith; his daughters, Kristen Yacovone Calpin and her husband Pat, Alyssa Kraemer and her husband Erik, and Rebecca Yacovone and her partner Mike; and his cherished grandchildren, Eden, Jeremiah, and Daisy. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Santa Maria and her husband John, and Maria Yacovone; his brothers, Joseph Yacovone, Johnny Yacovone, Paul Yacovone and his partner Valarie, and Frank Yacovone and his partner Marie. Michael leaves behind several lifelong friends who became family, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held this summer with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael's honor to Hospice Foundation of America Inc. or Meal on Wheels.
