Minerva L. Weatherford, 97, of Frenchtown, NJ, died peacefully in her home, Friday, April 19, 2019.
Born January 10, 1922 in Frenchtown, NJ, she was a daughter of the late John and Geneva Eichlin. She graduated from Frenchtown High School in 1940, where she played on the basketball team.
Minerva was a co-owner with her late husband, Chester Weatherford, of the former Eichlin and Son Pontiac in Frenchtown, which then relocated to Flemington, NJ. They also sold Winnebago and Kountry Aire RV’s through the dealership.
She was a past-president of the Frenchtown Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary, a former Frenchtown Borough Council Member, former member of the Frenchtown PTA and was a member of the former Frenchtown Chapter of the Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital.
Minerva and her family enjoyed RVing around the country.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbi Adams and her husband Bruce, their children, Cory J. and Lindsay L., and three nieces, Lori Allen, Connie Puckett, and Annell Orlando, all of Western Kentucky. Minerva would also have wanted to remember Gabriella Naveillan of Santiago, Chili, an exchange student with the American Field Services, who lived with her family from 1964-65.
Funeral services were private. The Rev. William O. Culton officiated services as Minerva was laid to rest alongside her late husband, Chester Weatherford, in the Frenchtown Cemetery, Frenchtown, NJ.
