Patricia McGinley Obituary

Patricia "Patty" A. McGinley, 71, of Tatamy, PA, formerly of Phillipsburg, NJ, died October 8, 2025. 

Born March 17, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Theresa (Macaluso) Cicale.

She formerly worked at the Phillipsburg Free Press where she met her husband Neil, and then was a homemaker for many years. In later years, she worked at Sears in Phillipsburg, Infonxx as a directory assistance operator and then retiring from Ruby Tuesday after 18 years as a host.  

As a longtime resident of Phillipsburg, NJ, she was a Phillipsburg High School graduate, Class of 1972. She was bursting with Liner Pride, always cheering on her team against Easton on Thanksgiving Day. She helped plan her 50th class reunion that was held in 2022. As a youth, she was a twirler in the St Anthony’s Youth Center band in Easton, PA. When her kids were younger, she was involved in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. In later years, she was a volunteer with the Easton Main Street Initiative, selling garlic and bacon knots at festivals as a fundraiser and helping with various other events in the city. She was of Catholic faith and was a member of St Phillip and St James Church, Phillipsburg.

Patty loved photography, traveling and visiting and collecting lighthouses. Twice she did the NJ Lighthouse Challenge, visiting each one in the state. She loved the music of the 50's and 60's, as well as her favorite artists being Kenny Rogers and Michael Buble, and going to many concerts. Christmas was her favorite holiday, The season would start by attending the annual Peace Candle Lighting in downtown Easton, PA, which she never missed. Christmas Eve was her holiday, carrying on the tradition of having meatball sandwiches, and everyone getting new pajamas and ornaments for the tree. Her home was adorned with snowflakes and light up lighthouse ornaments. She spent a lot of time visiting Christmas markets, shopping and enjoying a marathon of Hallmark movies. She was always excited to go to see live entertainment, visit a local winery, or enjoy a cup of hot tea and dessert. 

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa "Missy" McGinley and Rachael, both of Palmer Township, PA; a son, Ryan of Tatamy, PA and his fiancé, Julie Griner a brother, Wayne and his wife Cynthia of Bethlehem, PA and a grandson, Aaron McGinley of Allentown, PA. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband Neil E. McGinley, whom she remained friends with until his passing. 

Visitation will be held 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, October 20, 2025 in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg, NJ, 08865. (www.noto-wynkoop.com) Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 11:00 am. Cremation followed entombment will be private for the family.
